CLOUD SPLITTER The Grand Teton Mountains in Wyoming are among the most dramatic in the contiguous United States. In this photograph, the serrated edges of the Grand Teton Mountains split the clouds to reveal a rugged massif of cliffs, snow and rocks. Within the Teton Mountain Range is the so-called Cathedral Group, which consists of Grand Teton (the highest mountain in the Teton Range at 13,770 feet), Mt. Owen (the second highest at 12,928 feet), and Teewinot Mountain (the sixth highest at 12,325 feet). In "Cloud Splitter," what you see on the left and diagonally to the bottom right is the facade of Teewinot Mountain. Peaking through the clouds in the upper right is Grand Teton Mountain, the highest mountain in the Teton Range.
